Nine Months

Happy 9 Months My Little Bugaboo!

All three of us have survived 3/4 of your first year. Which means your first birthday is in 3 months. THREE MONTHS! (I have a feeling I'm going to be saying this is going way too fast a lot in these next couple of months!)

These monthly photo shoots are officially starting to get harder. You can no longer sit still long enough for me to capture those sweet little smiles and poses in only a few short pictures. Now, you look everywhere BUT me. I think I'm going to do a bloopers post next.

So you are officially three-quarters of a year old. ::Sigh::
Last month you finally officially started rolling over and this month you have mastered rolling over both ways, sides, up and down. If that is even possible.
You are a little magician in your crib!
I put you to bed with your feet at one end of the crib and by morning or at some point in the night if I check the monitor you have made your way all the way to the opposite end with your feet going the other direction. How? I have no idea.
You also love wrestling with your blankie, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen!
You also prop your legs and feet up on the sides of the crib and will try to pull your bumper down.

You LOVE your daddy so much!
He can get the biggest smiles and giggles out of you. Even when you're tired, cranky or crying.
And he's a pretty big fan of trying to get you to laugh at him.
You starting saying "Dada". Of course your dad counts it as your first word, though I don't just yet because your just babbling it over and over. It's one of the easiest syllables to say. I'm still holding out hope for mama obviously :)
Although this month has been a roller coaster ride of weather, (these better be some amazing May flowers!) we made it outside a handful of times for some walks finally. Mama took you and the puppies to the park for the first time this year and you got to swing for the first time ever. Don't be fooled by the less than thrilled picture, you're distracted by the dogs, I swear you were smiling and loved it!
You're daddy even took you to the park, just the two of you, after he picked you up from daycare one afternoon. He strapped you in the stroller and rolled you up to the park to swing. Then he said he took you over to one of the baseball diamonds where a dad and his son were playing catch together. You both sat  there and watched them for awhile. ::Heart.Melting.Now::

You're trying more foods left and right but you're not that great of an eater. Although you really love your puffs and pasta! Giving you pasta for the first time was hilarious. You tried shoveling it into your month you liked it so much. You're not a big fan of self-feeding yourself fruit. I would say sweet potatoes are still your most favorite thing of all time. I can mix just about anything with sweet potatoes and you'll still eat it. That's how mommy tricks you :) You're puppies have quickly learned where the best seat in the house is when it's your dinner time.

We celebrated you're first Easter. I posted earlier about our fun road trip up to Des Moines and how much fun you had playing with your cousin's and seeing family. You went on your first Easter Egg Hunt and made out pretty well thanks to the help of your daddy. We stayed the night in a hotel. We went shopping at an outlet mall. Looking forward to celebrating many more holiday's with our little family!

We just fall more and more in love with you everyday kid! I love your face!!

XOXO Mom
Cheese'n
Age: 9 months old
Weight: 21 lbs 3 ounces
Length: 28 3/4 inches
Size: Still getting some use out of the 6M clothes but their getting rather snug it’s time to faze them out. Wearing 9M and 6-12M. Size 3 and 4 disposable diapers, medium setting on all cloth diapers.
Hair: Light brown/sandy blonde. It's not so crazy, mad scientist anymore now that it has grown out more and the length has started evening out more. He still has that one really long chunk of alfalfa hair that sticks up.
Eyes: Love those Baby Blues!
Teeth: Still two bottom teeth…although I swear he is teething right now and working on getting those two top one is.
Sleeping: Awesome little sleeper! There may have only been 2 or 3 times either one of us had to go in his room after putting him down for the night. This majority of this month bedtime has been at 7:00pm and he sleeps till 6:30am straight through!
Eating: Breastfeeding is still going strong! During the week he still gets 2 - 6oz bottles of pumped breastmilk at daycare and nurses 2 times (sometimes one more very short one at bedtime but not always). Still no night feedings! He is now getting 3 meals of solid foods a day. We starting giving him chunks of food along with his puffs and yogurt melts to practice self-feeding and using his pincher's. This month we tried a few different flavors of yogurt, cottage cheese, pasta, bread, pancakes, eggs, and chunks of banana, pears, green beans, avocado, peaches. He LOVES him some pasta!! But is not of fan of touching or picking up fruits or veggies. Not sure if it's the texture or what but he wants nothing to do with them, if I pick them to give to him or put them on a spoon/fork he'll eat them (except peach chunks).
Movement: Rolling all over the place, won’t stay put in one place any longer. He pushes his upper body up and will try to move but hasn't figured out how to push up onto his knees yet. Will move backwards. While on his tummy he will do the superman, in which he lifts up and out his arms and legs like he's flying and then tries moving that way.
Milestones: Rolling. Every.Where. Shaking his head no. Waving hi and bye-bye. We're working on high-fives and saying yes! Celebrated his 1st Easter.
Favorite Toys/Activities: Jumperoo. His dino-ball popper. Activity table. All forms of balls. Rolling balls back and forth. Ring tower. Anything he can put in his mouth and feels good against those gums. Playing peek-a-boo and patty cake. Watching people. Bath time.
Dislikes: Still not a fan of getting dressed or putting clothes of his head. Really hates having his nose/face wiped off. Waiting for mama to feed him.
Words/Sounds: Sounds have taken off, babbling with vowels and consonants all the time. He says dada over and over all the time.

Favorite Moments:
- Eating pasta
- Our first family road trip, to Des Moines for Easter, you did awesome!!!
