Spider-Man Tats

Look who earned his first Spider-Man tattoo for FINALLY peeing on the potty last night!! Whoo-woo

During bath time he kept saying he had to go potty, which I wasn't going to deny him so he kept getting in and out of the tub to go sit on the potty. After a few attempts he farted which was better than nothing so I made a big deal of it since it could eventually lead to more and he got really excited. He ran to tell Dave "Daddy daddy I farted on the potty!" Then proceeded to sit back on the potty about 10 more times to fart each time, get off and run and tell Dave that he farted each time on the potty again.

Eventually he got back in the tub so we could finish his bath. As the water was draining out of the tub and he was picking up his toys he started peeing and immediately stopped it and grabbed his junk. I told him you have to do that in the potty, so we quickly made our way back to the potty to sit. He of course didn't want to go then so I wrapped a towel around him and was able to distract him with his Spider-Man action figure for a bit and we talked about all his friends who do pee on the potty already. After a few minutes he started going!! Granted none of it made it in the toilet but lucky he had a towel on him do he actually peed into the towel. He said "Uh-oh Mommy", I told him "It doesn't matter you're peeing on the potty!" We all celebrated and he got to pick out a tattoo and where he wanted it placed. He was so extremely excited and I am so proud of him! Now let's hope we can do it again :)

Mommy/Son Date Night

Madden and I attended our first Mommy and Son Formal this past weekend and this is our best attempt at an actually picture for the event. Isn't my date the cutest!?!

We went with Megan and Luke and Kelsey and Jackson. They both went together the previous year together for the first time, the boys had a blast. The dance was put on my the Davenport Parks & Recreation. There was a DJ, balloon drop, face painting, craft table, raffle and prize table, buffet, cake, and professional pictures you could get taken with your little man which are a bit pricey so we skipped those.
The balloons were probably by far MJ's most favorite part, along with the Hershey Kisses on the table. The boys all danced together for the Cha-Cha Slide, which was hilarious to watch. The highlight of the night was when Madden grabbed a ladies butt! He was standing by the doorway when a cute young mom in a short red dressed walked by him and stopped for a second, he turned around and full on grabbed her butt. The other mom and I were both shocked and just looked at each other, I could barely get out an apology. Right after she left I told him "Madden, you can't do that." And he responded "Okay" then started walking away.

Spring is in the Air!

The last week we has finally had some amazing weather in the Midwest!
And by amazing I mean at least 40 degrees, even a few 60 degree days. It's been heaven and I've realized how claustrophobic feeling we have been getting the past few weeks.

Last week Madden and I got out of the house for our first walk of the season with the puppies.
MJ chatted up a storm the entire way with so much excitement at literally everything. He saw a bird and would yell "Hi bird!" He would see a squirrel running and yell "Mom look! What's that?"

We had what I hope is our last snowball fight till next winter.
MJ grabbed his garden shovel and started wackin at the snow to get some snow loose. Then turned around and started running at me, thinking it was hilarious. :)

We started swimming this month at the YMCA just on Saturday mornings. He's a littler leery getting in the deeper 3ft water but does great when both Dave and I are in the pool. He absolutely loved the shallow area and is obsessed with the slide.

Saturday we went to the St. Patrick's Day parade downtown. MJ got loaded up with necklace beads which he has been obsessed with the last two days. Elsa and Ana made an appearance in the parade which made MJ's day.

Yesterday we walked to the park to run around the baseball fields and burn some energy at the playground. Madden literally ran nonstop circles around the play area for an hour. That and the fresh air I thought for sure he would crash when we got home, but no, no nap Sunday happened. Thankfully he stayed in a great mood all day. It was so fun watching how happy he was to be outside. I can already forecast he is going to want to spend every second outside this summer and some wonderful meltdowns in our future. Either way, bring on the fun AND sun!
