Gotta Have Faith

Dave's New Year's Resolution was that he wanted us to start going to church on Sunday's. He told me that New Year's Eve and I just laughed because one he's never been one to want to be in a church, not even for a wedding. He always tried to skip out on the ceremonies (the most important part!) and just go to the receptions. Second I had the hardest time even getting him to attend church for when we were getting married! I've tried for nearly 3 years to get him to go to church with me every once in a while. So when he told me what he wanted his resolution to be I told him absolutely but I won't hold my breath!

Since the beginning of the year, he's stated numerous times how we need to get to church but by time Sunday morning rolls around someone doesn't want to get out of bed or off the couch or out the door, so we never make it. Even a few of our friends have started going to church every Sunday and have invited us to join them.

Well...it's almost March, almost 3 months into the new year and no church yet! That is until TODAY! We actually, finally made it to church. We were on time and all! No complaining. No trying to leave church early! The theme of the mass today was Faithfulness. What's interesting was that this was the first time we've been to mass in years together, not wedding related, and in two songs and the first reading were references about a women with child. I'm hoping this is a sign from God that this cycle is the one! The big man upstairs just might be trying to tell me something after all.

Just have faith.

One Word: Frustration

Yep, I'm beginning to hate being on clomid.

Still waiting on ovulating....well over a week later than normal so far.

Negative, negative, negative, fail, fail fail, negative, negative....I'm getting really good at failing tests and becoming more and more frustrated!!

Can you see why I've started hating peeing on a stick (POAS)?!?! This is my life every month, usually not nearly so many negative OPK, but my life non the less every month. Ovulating later in my cycle just prolongs it that much longer and adds that much more of a wait, oh joy.

Infertility Success

No not me just yet...

But since starting to talk about our Infertility Journey publicly on this blog a year ago now, I've heard from some wonderful ladies about their experiences and troubles conceiving. One of the first girls I ever actually had a conversation with had been TTC for over a year and a half, had gone through all the testing, been diagnosed with the dreaded Unexplained Infertility, and started fertility meds. Since then she has gone through 3, count them One, Two, Three Rounds of IVF and suffered a heartbreaking loss after her first round. However, apparently the third time is a charm because she is now expecting TWINS!!!

I am so very happy for her and her husband as I know this has been a very long and difficult journey that luckily will have a happy ending, a double happy ending! I pray she has a happy and healthy pregnancy and pray that God watches over her, the babies, and her family along the way. It is truly a miracle and blessing.

It's a FULL Moon

It's Friday and a Full Moon.

We've all hear how all the Crazies come out on the Full Moon. That there's a link between the Full Moon with crime, mental illness, suicide, accidents, birthrates and Werewolves.

I'm sure there has been a countless amount of studies on this "Lunar Effect". But whether or not any of them find any correlation I don't know. I do know a few people who work in the ER, nurses in L&D and EMT's who say they do see an increase in patients and babies.

It's intriguing to say the least.

Recently I read that the full moon can also increase chances of conception if it coincides with the woman's ovulation period. Apparently women's periods have been tied to the moon and the lunar cycle for literally thousands of years. I found a few websites state that charting your menstrual period according to the moon is one of the oldest forms of menstrual calendars. In fact, it is believed that calendars were based upon women's charts of their menstrual cycles and the moon cycle. Yet the shift from Pagan beliefs to Christian beliefs came the shift from lunar calendar (consisting of 13 months, all 28 days, totally 364 days) to the solar calendar which is what we have now (12 months, 28-31 days depending on which month you're in).

I've heard this before and I don't know if it has any correlation but it makes sense as our moods and emotions tend to peak when the moon is full and the ER seems to be busiest every night there is a full moon.

So come on Full Moon work your magic!

Princess Waveland

Happy Birthday Waveland!
It's our baby girls 3rd birthday today! Yes we celebrate our furbabies birthday, maybe once we have human babies we'll stop. But until then we celebrate!!! My little Waveybelle is getting so big, look how little she use to be...
Dave really wanted to get a 2nd dog and one of my co-workers dogs accidentally got pregnant, actually they didn't even know she was pregnant until about a week before giving birth to 3 little puppies. So we decided to take an "Oops puppy". We were suppose to go pick her up one day after I got off work but instead my co-workers husband brought her to work for me so I got to surprise Dave (and Maddux) with her. She was so tiny I put her in my coat and Dave didn't even know until...surprise...
Puppy! Meeting for the first time, obviously best friends :)
Waveland in her winter coat bought buy Daddy!
Loving the snow!
Being tortured! Dave put my socks on her front paws and made her walk all funny, it was so cute!

Dazzling Designs

I have a new favorite blog that I just stumbled upon the other day....okay guilty confession coming up, since becoming more and more baby crazy the last few months, or years now, I always look at all things baby such as names, nursery ideas, clothes... you get the idea. So I was looking at pictures of nursery design ideas and came across this little gem http://designdazzle.blogspot.com. Not only does it have design ideas and inspiration of all things baby but also has tons of decorating tips, projects, party ideas, and even sweet treat ideas. I've spend the last 3 days looking through all the old posts. So many cute party theme ideas, I want to try them all!

I Lied

Clomid is a Bitch, or at least it has made me one!
About a week before the end of my cycle I started getting headaches, feeling dizzy and extremely moody. I mean literally overly annoyed with certain people it was driving me crazy. Particularly with one person I work with, everything about this person and what they did drove me crazy....the way they drank...the sounds they made when they ate...hearing them talk... breathing so loud.....AHHHHH...SERIOUSLY CRAZY PERSON OVER HERE!!
And then of course when when AF showed up CRAZY LADY was out in full force. It didn't help that AF was 2-3 times worse than normal, I couldn't even stand being touched... my husband trying to touch me made me want to scream (and I might have) and run from him, ohh my poor husband! We may have gotten into a argument while at the grocery store but in my defense who decides to wait till the day before the Superbowl while just about to check out to tell their wife "we're having people over for the game what are you making"? Needless to say I gave myself a timeout when we got home. I grabbed my heating pad and laid in bed in complete SILENCE for a good 20 minutes to calm my irritability, over sensitivity, and irrational behavior! Hey it helped, I've been good since them
So yes the first round of Clomid was a Bust!
Onto round 2...and hoping it goes better....for both my husbands sake and my sanity's sake ;)

Detox Complete

I finished the 3 week detox and it couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Super Bowl Sunday was my first day back to eating normally!! The first two weeks on it really wasn't as hard as I thought but that last week killed me! I started to lose steam and fast, so really to get back to eating like normal again. Plus I was only losing a few ounces throughout the week so that didn't give me much motivation to keep it up. I don't know how people do it for 40 days, their seriously crazy!! That means I've completed #59 on my 101 List, yeah! Overall I lost 10lbs on the detox!! I'm pretty happy with that and ready to get back to working out and having a relation with my gym again here soon!

Blizzard 2011

This week the Midwest was hit with one mighty storm system and we received 18.4 inches of snow. With blizzard conditions all the offices at the hospital I work with closed down so I luckily got to enjoy an adult snow day that doesn't happen very often. Wednesday morning we woke up to snow drifts so high in the front of our house you can't even tell we have stairs. They were up to my chest!! It took Dave two days to shovel out the drive and walkway up to the house. Oh the joys of living in the Midwest :)
