Look Who's Seven Month's Old!
Age: Seven Months Old
Weight: 15lbs 12 ounces at 6 month appt
Length: 26 ¼ inches at 6 month
appt
Size: Harper is still in size 2 diapers and
wearing both 6 and 9 month clothes and pajamas.
Hair: Light brown/blonde
Eyes: BIG blue eyes with long eyelashes
Health: Another great month
of health!!
Teeth: TWO! Her two bottom front teeth showed up
at the beginning of the month and thankfully didn’t take too long to pop
through or cause her too much discomfort.
Sleeping: Operation Sleep Through the Night started
in full force this past month. It started off strong…for the first two weeks
she would go every other or every 2 nights with sleeping through the
night no problem (7pm-6am), if she woke I could just give her her pacifier and
rub her back a few minutes then she was right back to sleep. Those other nights in
between were a bit harder, she would wake up on/off for 1-2 hours before
finally giving in sleeping the rest of the night. However, the following two
weeks she started waking up much earlier than normal between 10-11:00pm
multiple times for a feeding but then she would go right back to sleep for the
rest of the night. Bedtime is around 7:00pm and wake up time is about 6:30am.
Naps have been great this month. She has been going down fairly easy for her
morning nap around 9-9:30am and will sleep about 2 hours. Afternoon nap is a
bit trickier (at least for us on the weekends) she sometimes isn’t ready until 3:00-3:30pm or later then sleeps about an hour.
Eating: Still not a huge fan of solids this
month. She does seem to prefer chunks of real food versus purees. I am a bit
more casual on letting her eat small pieces of foods over the purees this go
around, I guess that’s what second kids get. :) One thing she does love are Puffs. AND she just
started figuring out how to self-feed herself those puffs!! This month we tried
sweet potatoes, prunes, yogurt, cheese, peaches, peas, apples, watermelon, nectarines.
She definitely seems to prefer pieces of banana over pureed banana. Hated
yogurt. Sweet potatoes gets spit out the least amount. And she seems to be a fan of cheese but everything else was so-so.
Harper is still
breastfeeding and takes 2 bottles (occasionally a 3rd) at daycare. She
drinks 5-6 ounces for each bottle fed and still wakes up for one occasional night feeding.
Movement: Harper is still a little wiggle worm. She turns
herself around in her crib at night and is rarely the direction or on the side I put
her down in. She is very close to getting up on all fours. She still does her Superman,
kicks out her legs and arms while on her tummy like she is trying to move
somewhere. She will either push up with her arms or onto her knees with her
butt up in the air like she is getting ready to get up on all fours but hasn’t
figured out putting them together just yet. However I have seen her getting up
on all fours in her crib this past week if she pushes her feet again the cribs
side when she is trying to fall asleep so I know it’s coming.
Milestones: Starting to self-feed. Sitting up unassisted for longer periods of
time. Longer periods of sleeping through the night. Falling asleep on her own more and more.
Favorite
Toys/Activities: Bouncing in the jumperoo. Putting her toes in her
mouth. Sucking on her thumb and first two fingers. Likes to touch/feel faces. Playing under her playmat.
Still loves diaper changes and being naked. Now that is can sit up in the bath
tub she is absolutely loving splashing in the bath and bath time. Watching big brother all of the time!

Dislikes: Eating baby food. Aside from that I really can’t
think of anything anymore. She typically is always happy and content, the only
reason she is fussy is if she is tired or hungry.
Words: Dave seriously thinks she says “Heyyyy” to
him when he talks to her. I’m not buying it yet.
Sounds: Laughing and giggling. She usually only
cries when she’s tired or hungry. She still coos, squawks blows raspberries,
and “talks" all the time. She loves interacting with people who give her
attention. Talking in her crib when she wakes up.
Favorite Moments
- Madden was wrestling Harper, giving her hugs, trying to hold her, and putting his face right up in her face. Probably being a bit too much for her as usual. She of course is still in the ‘must put everything in my mouth’ stage and will try to suck or eat your face, arm, hand, etc. As Madden was all up in her business she went for his nose and now that she has two teeth it’s not as funny anymore. Madden started crying “She bit me, she bit me. That’s not nice baby”.
