ten months old

**One of these months I'll get these posted right on time.

Happy 10 Months Buggy!

Even though I started thinking/planning your birthday party a long long time ago, the last month I have been trying to put it far from my mind. I'm in a bit of denial that in only 2 short months you'll be a year old :(~

I can't not think of it for long because look how big you've gotten!!!

You are just so much fun!
I can't get over how hilarious you are every hour of every day. You keep your daddy and me laughing all day long!!
I can't pick what my favorite time of day is anymore. I love coming in your room each morning to get you for the day, you give me the biggest smiles. You're always in such a great mood, you play awesome on your own and with your friends, you have the best giggles, and are very ticklish just about everywhere. You love bath time so much you literally go crazy while you are in the tub, splashing around in the water. Sometimes you'll let me snuggle you for a few minutes before bedtime but you usually don't need it and put yourself right to sleep.

At the beginning of the month we took you to the local zoo (One goal for you complete!). Grandma Karen got you a new hat to wear for the summer that we got to try out. I think you look absolutely adorable in it. When we packed you up to leave you were so excited to go to the zoo!

You really liked the giraffes...which really isn't surprising now that I think about it since we have a lot of giraffe themed toys at home. You leaned as far as your stroller would let you to see them and get as close as possible. Cutest. Thing. EVER!

Daddy officially started his baseball season so that means you and mommy get lots of extra time together. Not only does mommy drop you off at daycare every morning she also picks you up the majority of the month (as well as the next two). Daddy has had a couple very late nights where he's missed you all together. It was rough the week of tryouts as he only got to see you one day during the week, he was so sad that we took videos and sent them to him. He in turn sent you a video message too.

Highlights:
- Went to Elliot from daycare's first birthday party
-Grilled out at your Uncle Jordan and Aunt Steph's, played with your cousins
- Celebrated Mother's Day, went to Outback Steakhouse to eat
- Took a road trip to mommy's cousins' baby shower 2 hours away
- Visited out local zoo
- Dinner with Grandpa Jim, Grandma Karen and Uncle Mike at Red Robin
- Dinner with Grandpa Gary and Grandma Mary at Buffalo Wild Wings
- Played in the grass for the first time, it didn't faze you at all and actually like it. You ran your hands through it, pulled at it and even tried to eat it.
- Went to daddy's first baseball game
- Pooped in the bathtub for the first time (so far just the once)
-Started spitting and spraying food out of his mouth
- Started going on jogs with mommy along the bike path
-          - Clicks and grinds his new top teeth together with his bottom teeth…drives me crazy!! Like nails on a chalkboard
- We helped Tera register for her baby shower and you picked out some great toys and ideas for little baby Berkey
- You found your boy parts!

My heart is so full with you in our lives my little man!
Your daddy and I love you to the moon and back, we are so lucky and blessed to be your parents.
Love,
Mommy

Age: 10 months old
Weight: 22 lbs
Length: 27 3/4 inches at 9 month appt
Size: Wearing 9M, 12 M and 6-12M clothes, although the 9M rompers are already getting a bit small because of his thick thighs. Size 4 disposable diapers, I really slacked on using cloth this past month.
Hair: Light brown, getting more thick and the length finally has evened out.
Eyes: Love those Baby Blues!

Health: Overall health has been great this month however we have been battling an ear infection the entire month. At his 9 month wellness visit we found out both his ears were red with infection, we have gone back to the doctor twice and are currently on our 3rd round of meds to treat the infection along with just starting Zyrtec this time to treat his running nose and nasal congestion. We go back to the doctor next week, if the ear infection isn't gone this time we will be referred to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. You would never guess this kid has ever had an infection, he shows absolutely NO signs and is quite the happy little boy. The evening we got home from travel for a baby shower you came down with your first fever that went up to 101.9, luckily after some Tylenol and nakey time it came down to just being warm to the touch until the next day.

Teeth:  FOUR! He finally cut those darn two top teeth, at the same time. We had one really rough night were he wouldn't sleep. He just laid face down in his crib whining/crying and only slept if we held him, which I did until 1:00am when he finally was out. Aside from that teething tablets worked like magic. We started learning to brush our teeth, mostly just at bedtime for now.

Sleeping: Aside from that one rough night from teething he is one awesome little sleeper still! He takes 2 naps a day which usually last 1-2.5 hours, sometime a third little catnap after pick up from daycare. Bedtime is around 7-7:30pm, some nights daddy gives him a bath, mommy reads 2 books then it's to bed we go. I put him in his crib wide awake, give him his blankie and paci, turn his sound machine on, turn the lights off and shut the door. He usually rolls around with his blankie for a little bit then puts himself to sleep and stays asleep until 6-6:30am.

Eating:  Breastfeeding is still going strong. During the week he nurses twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening after I get home from work. He gets two 6 oz bottles at daycare. During the weekend he nurses for all feedings. He gets 3 meals of solids each day along with snacks and offer his a sippy cup of water or breastmilk.
This month new things he tried – asparagus, chicken, beef, French toast, eggs, pineapple, melon, bbq pork, pumpkin bread, enchiladas, zucchini, salmon, pizza (green peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage).
Loves – any kind of bread or pasta (kid loves his carbs!), sweet potatoes, bananas, zucchini, salmon, puffs, yogurt, and all meat
Not a Fan– peas, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, wet/mushy fruit but only if self-feeding

Movement: He's quite crawling just yet but he's getting closer. He will get one leg under him. Right around his 10 months he just started pushing up on all fours for a hot second and will kind of army crawl. And he I snow scooting backwards when on his belly, especially while on the hardwood floors. He rolls everywhere!  Tries to grab everything.

Milestones: Scooting backwards. Army crawling. *Giving kisses*. Clapping.

Favorite Toys/Activities: Bath time by far is his favorite thing ever! Time to eat in his highchair. Dropping or throwing toys out of car seat/stroller or in his highchair

Dislikes: Still not always a fan of putting jammies on at night.

Words/Sounds: "Talks" all the time. Says Dada all the time and mama a few times. Still not counting it as his first word yet since we says it for everything. Giggles. Belly laughs. Screeches.

Favorite Moment:
- By far my favorite thing this month is that you learned how to give kisses. Hands down. Mommy seriously melted the first time you gave me one. I always give you kisses and usually always ask for them when I kiss you on the mouth even though I don't wait for you to answer me because you're a baby that doesn't talk or understand just yet. One morning when I asked, you opened your mouth and leaned your head in to mind....Heart. Melting!!! You're just starting to give them more often. Daddy has gotten a few, although he prefers them on the cheek (I think the open mouth kisses weird him out for some reason). Grandma Mary got your first kiss other than mom or dad.
